At the Ordinary Meeting of Shareholders held on 7 May 2008, a new member nominated by investor Al Jaber shall be elected into the Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines AG. The new man on the Supervisory Board will be Herr Klaus Edelhauser, aged 53. Klaus Edelhauser is Chief Executive Officer of Generali Immobilien AG, and has worked within the Generali Group since 1988.
At the same time, Dr. Herbert Koch will retire from the Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines AG. Dr. Koch has been Deputy Chairman of Austrian Airlines since March 2001, a function that has seen him assist in directing the successful period restructuring through to the turnaround of the past year. By resigning his mandate early, Dr. Koch, who would exceed the legally defined age limit by the time his period in office comes to an end at the end of 2010, is making it possible for a representative of investor Al Jaber to take a place on the Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines AG as agreed.
Dr. Michaelis, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines AG, said the following about Dr. Koch’s retirement: “I would like to thank Dr. Koch for his work on the Supervisory Board of the company. He has always performed his function calmly and with conviction, and provided outstanding guidance for the company throughout the recent, highly challenging, process of restructuring.”
